FACILITIES & LOCATION
Situated in the leafy north London suburb of Hendon
The school provides a fantastic range of facilities to enhance pupils’ learning and experience. We have bright and well-resourced classrooms, complete with an ICT suite, dedicated Art and Design studio, music room, library and a fully equipped science laboratory.
A large playground and outside classroom give pupils much needed space for play and outdoor learning. With a planting area, amphitheatre, Astroturf football and netball pitch and giant chess board, playtimes are full of fun at Hendon Prep.
Besides using the wonderful playground for sports and PE lessons, the school also makes use of fabulous local facilities such as Poolside Manor Swimming Pool and Power League.

Harvest Festival at Hendon Prep 🍂🌾
Our Harvest Festival celebration was filled with wonderful singing, creative artwork and generous food donations for Homeless Action in Barnet. They were very grateful.
We were also delighted to welcome Jess from Foundation Stones, who helped the children understand why we celebrate Harvest Festival and the importance of sharing with others.

Starting Our Day with Fine Motor Fun!
Every morning in Reception, the children start their day with a fun and purposeful fine motor activity. These activities are a wonderful way to help children develop the small muscles in their hands and fingers, building the strength, coordination and control they need for everyday tasks and, importantly, for future writing.
Our morning activities are varied and engaging, ensuring that learning feels like play. The children might practise letter and number formation, explore writing and mark-making using four different materials, create with disco dough, or take part in ribbon dancing to develop coordination and movement.
These experiences help to strengthen hand and finger muscles, improve hand-eye coordination, develop pencil control, and encourage concentration and perseverance. They also provide opportunities for the children to explore different ways of moving, creating and expressing themselves.
Most importantly, the children engage, enjoy and have great fun while learning! They are enthusiastic about joining in, enjoy trying new activities and take pride in developing their skills.

Learning About Judaism
Our pupils enjoyed a special assembly with Izzie (from NW Reform Synagogue), who shared her knowledge and experiences of Judaism.
The children had a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Jewish beliefs, traditions and celebrations, helping them develop a greater understanding and appreciation of different faiths and cultures.
We are very grateful to Izzie for taking the time to visit us and deliver such an engaging and informative assembly.

Today, our Year 6 pupils enjoyed an online session with the British Film Institute, where they learned Spanish through a selection of short films.
The session featured a range of engaging, clip-based activities that helped the children develop their vocabulary in a fun and memorable way.
The children were enthusiastic throughout, contributing confidently via the chat and microphone. It was a fantastic and interactive learning experience!
