Hendon Prep is a happy, cohesive community where our children enjoy their education. To ensure excellent outcomes at all levels our school is spilt into 3 stages: the Early Years (ages 3-5) which includes Preschool and Reception, Pre-Prep (ages 5-7) and Prep (ages 7 -11).

A child's educational journey begins in Early Years with our unique Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) PLUS curriculum.

Children benefit from daily lessons in Numeracy and Literacy and are taught by subject specialist teachers in French, Music, Sport and P.E in Preschool.

In Reception children still follow our unique EYFS PLUS Curriculum, based on the national Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, as they work towards the four Early Years Goals, however at this stage we introduce a more structured school day.

Children benefit from daily lessons in Numeracy and Literacy and are taught by subject specialist teachers in French, Music, Sport, PE, Art and Design Technology.

From a child's perspective, the transition from Early Years to Pre-Prep is seamless.

As we move to a more formal educational experience, we introduce children to the National Curriculum from Year 1, but aim to work a year ahead.

As our children begin to prepare for rigorous external 11+ examinations, we introduce the 'Independent Schools Examination Board' (ISEB) Curriculum for core subjects of Maths, English and Science from Year 3.

High levels of achievement are encouraged as children start to become more independent.
